Your thrilling 3-day Exclusive Eco Jungle Package begins with a warm welcome at your hotel or Medan’s airport, where our experienced team will be ready to greet you. Embark on a scenic 3.5-hour drive, winding through picturesque landscapes and lush plantations, until you reach the captivating village of Bukit Lawang. Nestled at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, this enchanting destination is the gateway to your extraordinary jungle trekking experience. Upon arrival, take a leisurely walk to your hotel, surrounded by the natural beauty that Sumatra is renowned for. Rest and prepare for the exhilarating days ahead.

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, the real adventure commences! At approximately 9 am, our expert guide will accompany you as you cross the Bohorok River, signaling the beginning of your trek into the heart of the jungle. Our primary goal is to encounter the magnificent orangutans in their natural habitat, but the jungle has so much more to offer.
As you venture deeper into the dense wilderness, keep your eyes peeled for fascinating glimpses of other wildlife, such as playful gibbons, mischievous macaques, and a variety of colorful bird species. Your knowledgeable guide will enthusiastically share insights about the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in this pristine ecosystem. Feel free to inquire about anything that piques your curiosity during the trek; our guides are passionate about sharing their wealth of knowledge.
During the trek, we’ll take a refreshing break to savor some of the region’s exotic and delicious fruits, freshly harvested from the surrounding jungle. As the sun climbs high in the sky, we’ll pause for a delectable lunch at the charming “Jungle restaurant,” where you can relish local flavors while immersed in the natural beauty that surrounds you.
Continuing deeper into the jungle, the trail will lead us through ancient trees and cascading vines, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of exploration and wonder. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the jungle station, where our “jungle taxi” awaits to transport you back to your hotel. On your final day, after a satisfying breakfast, bid farewell to Bukit Lawang and embark on a scenic drive to Medan, the bustling capital of North Sumatra. In Medan, a delightful lunch awaits, providing you with the opportunity to savor the local cuisine and recharge for the day’s cultural excursion to Tjong A Fie Mansion.
The magnificent Tjong A Fie Mansion, a stunning testament to Medan’s multicultural heritage. This captivating mansion once belonged to the prominent Chinese merchant, Tjong A Fie, and its architecture reflects a beautiful fusion of various cultural influences. how can we help you?
Here are some of the most common questions we get from our customers. Hopefully, this will help you. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to contact us!
All of our trekking guides speak English… and a little orangutan language ; )
The items you will need most are cash money, good walking shoes/hiking boots, a flashlight/torch and mosquito repellent. There is possibility to change money in Bukit Lawang.
You might see orangutans on our jungle treks, but there is no guarantee! These animals live out in the wild, and it’s hard to know where they will be at any point of the day. But our jungle treks leave Bukit Lawang at 8:30 am and pass the old orangutan feeding area, so you have a good chance to see semi-wild orangutans up close.
Just bring your personal belongings in a small backpack and 1 large bottle of water. Our team will provide sleeping bags as well as safety jackets for tube rafting. There will be a porter to carry the equipment (tent, camping mats, mosquito nets) and food supplies.
You can either pay the full amount or pay a 30% deposit, and you can pay the rest of the fee when you arrive in Bukit Lawang. Send us an email and we will send you our account number to which you can transfer the money.
If you cancel at least:
Two weeks before the trekking date: We will refund your deposit minus any transaction fees.
One week before the trekking date: If you have paid the full amount, you will get a full refund minus 10% and transaction fees. If you only have paid the deposit, you will get half of your deposit back minus transaction fees.
Less than 24 hours before the trekking date: No refund will be provided.
We will use it to cover your treks and tours cancellations, as well as compensation for your guide.
